| CIMT (Carotid Intima Media Thickness) Ultrasound |
CIMT Ultrasound is a non-invasive method designed for the earliest detection of
anatomical manifestation of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).
Coronary atherosclerosis is a chronic, multifactorial disease process. Some
individuals with atherosclerosis receive treatment in the form of mechanical or
pharmacologic interventions after an acute event has occurred. Others receive
treatment in the form of risk factor-based systemic intervention, the effectiveness
of which is assessed by its ability to prevent an acute event.

| CV Profilor |
Healthy
arteries are flexible and elastic - they expand and briefly store
blood from each heart beat thereby helping the heart move blood to
all areas in your body. Unhealthy or diseased arteries are often
stiff or hardened - placing extra strain on the heart and the artery
wall which can result in heart failure, artery obstructions (plaque)
and abnormalities that can interfere with normal blood flow.
With a quick, simple and non-invasive test, the CVProfilor®
measures artery elasticity, which can help your physician identify
whether you have potential underlying vascular disease. When
arteries stiffen, they are more likely to clog and cause heart
attacks and strokes. The CVProfilor® provides information on the
health of your arteries and can help to identify problems even
before you are aware of them. |

| EKG - Electrocardiogram |
|
Electrocardiogram is a painless, very common test that records the heart's
electrical activity as a graph. It is used to evaluate unexplained chest pain,
irregular heart beats, enlarged heart walls or inflammation around the heart.
It can be used to monitor the effectiveness or possible side effects of certain
medications and can check the function of implanted pacemakers. |
|
| Exercise Stress Test |
Stress test is a useful screening tool for detection of significant
coronary artery disease. Despite advances in disease prevention, coronary
artery disease remains a major cause of illness and death in the United
States.
The stress test can also be used to evaluate medical therapy and cardiac
rehabilitation following a heart attack or myocardial infarction.

| Bone Density Testing |
A
bone density test, or scan, is designed to check for osteoporosis, a
silent disease that occurs when the bones become thin and weak.
Osteoporosis happens when the bones lose calcium and other minerals
that keep them strong, resulting in fragility factors. Osteoporosis begins after menopause in many
women, and worsens after age 65, in both men and women. Osteoporosis can be treated
and should be disgnosed and treated before any fractures occur.
Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry or DEXA
for short is a machine takes a picture of the bones at the spine,
hip, total body or wrist, and calculates the density. DEXA is the gold standard
for diagnosing osteoporosis and following its response to therapy.

| Immunizations |
Immunizations
should be part of routine health care obtained through one's
personal physician (or in some instances, through one's local health
department). Long-lasting protection is available against measles,
mumps, German measles (rubella), poliomyelitis, tetanus (lockjaw),
whooping cough (pertussis), diphtheria, chickenpox (varicella),
Hemophilus influenzae b (Hib), and hepatitis A & B. Immunization against
all of these is recommended for children by the American Academy of
Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Practice, and the
Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the U.S. Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) -
(http://www.cdc.gov).
Immunization is also important for adults. Those unprotected
against any of the above diseases (except whooping cough) should
consult their physicians. Tetanus boosters should be administered
every ten years. Flu shots (which give only seasonal protection) and
immunization against pneumococcal pneumonia are recommended for
high-risk patients, elderly individuals, and certain institutional
populations. Meningoccal vaccine is now recommended for those 11 or 12 years and
"catch-up" for previously unvaccinated teens entering high school and college freshmen. |

| Chest X-Ray |
A chest x-ray is usually done for the
evaluation of lungs, heart and chest wall. Pneumonia, heart failure,
emphysema, lung cancer and other medical conditions can be diagnosed
or suspected on a chest x-ray. Traditionally, chest x-rays have been
performed prior to employment, prior to surgery or during
immigration.

| Needle Free Nerve Conduction Testing |
Nerve
conduction velocity (NCV) is a test of the speed of conduction of
impulses through a nerve. It is used to diagnose problems like
carpal tunnel syndrome or lumbar radiculopathy
The nerve is stimulated, usually with surface electrodes, which
are patch-like electrodes (similar to those used for ECG) placed on
the skin over the nerve at various locations. One electrode
stimulates the nerve with a very mild electrical impulse.
The resulting electrical activity is recorded by the other
electrodes. The distance between electrodes and the time it takes
for electrical impulses to travel between electrodes are used to
calculate the nerve conduction velocity. |

| Comprehensive Hearing Evaluation |
A
comprehensive hearing test is performed to determine not only your
ability to hear and understand speech, but also to determine your
ability to hear different frequencies or pitches. If the hearing
test shows that you have a hearing loss or if you are experiencing
significant communication problems in work, home, and social
environments, you may be considered a potential candidate for hearing aids.

| Vestibular Autorotation Test(VAT®) |
The
VAT™ is the most accurate and easiest to perform of all diagnostic
balance tests available today. The VAT can record and analyze
performance of the inner ear in a natural, comfortable manner.
Testing is painless, non-invasive and can be performed in as little
as 15 minutes. The VAT is recommended for diagnosis of most types of
balance disorders or dizziness. |
